Conspiracy theory of the day

UNDP Ms. Helen Clark meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister John KeyIf you’ve read this blog you’ll know that I’m a fan of Judith Collins personally. As a person, she’s always been very kind to me. I disagree with her politically and I disagree with a lot of her actions but again, she’s been decent to me.

That said, her list of indiscretions would usually warrant being sacked, right? And now she’s on her very very last chance apparently. The narrative seems to suggest he won’t sack her because it would be bad for the campaign.

Here’s my theory on why Key can’t/won’t sack her:

National’s election strategy is “Hi I’m John Key, you like me so you better vote for my party.” Well what if Key has done awful things? Things that would make people not like him? Right now we know that Key’s staffers were involved with awful things but Key has managed to keep his own hands relatively clean. If he sacks Judith what if she was to casually let slip a few things that John himself may have done? That would pretty much fuck the National Party.

So I think Judith is pretty much untouchable. Because Key knows if she goes, he’s gone. And the Nats know if Key’s gone well then it’s game over.

Coda: begging the question, what has Key done that he’s so keen to keep hidden? Put your suggestions below. Best guess wins a coffee from me sometime.

  1. I reckon the big secret he’s trying to hide is that Key made the decision to hire her in the first place against all warnings/recommendations against it/rational thought/common sense.
